Payment integration pattern

Stripe with
a controlled adapter boundary.

A Thonem payment-adapter pattern for Stripe projects with server-side transaction state, webhook handling and isolated provider logic.

Checkout→Stripe adapter→Stripe
implementation pattern · availability is project-specific
IMPLEMENTATION BOUNDARY

Provider logic stays
outside commerce rules.

The goal is not to make Thonem depend on a provider. It is to give the provider a small, testable adapter that translates between its contract and the commerce domain.

01

Normalize

Map provider-specific requests and responses into internal commerce commands and events.

02

Verify

Authenticate callbacks and validate state transitions before applying business side effects.

03

Observe

Log references, latency and failure classes so provider outages can be diagnosed without obscuring transaction truth.

PROJECT CHECKLIST
  • Use the deployed project’s chosen Stripe objects and API version; do not assume one checkout model fits every implementation.
  • Verify webhook signatures using server-side secrets that never ship with website files.
  • Map provider payment state to explicit internal states before fulfillment begins.
